The Canadian Cinema Editors (CCE) is a bilingual not-for-profit organization with the goal of bettering the art and science of motion picture editing in all media.
Since its founding in 2007, the CCE has grown into an exciting association with over 600 members across Canada. Throughout the year, we bring together the community of editors, assistant editors, post-supervisors, students and other filmmakers, to learn, network, and celebrate the outstanding achievements of the Canadian film industry. The CCE is committed to supporting and honouring our world-class editing talent, which strengthens Canada’s vibrant post community and helps promote it to the wider film industry at home and abroad.
We have created a platform with a variety of opportunities that we hope will appeal to you and assist in making our 2025 events a great success.
In 2025 we will host our 15th Annual CCE Awards as well as our 8th Annual EditCon. We will continue to develop programming and events for our members and post community across Canada, including our Master Series, Offline events as well as continue to grow our podcasts, The Editor’s Cut and L’art du montage. We need your support to make these initiatives possible.

CCE AWARDS 2025
The annual awards night is our flagship event that shines the spotlight on motion picture editors from across the country.
The CCE is now booking sponsors for the 2025 Awards. We are excited to present this year’s awards on Friday May 30th, 2025 at the Delta Toronto Hotel, located in the heart of downtown Toronto.
We will announce the winners of the 14 awards in various editing categories as well as the recipients of our Lifetime Achievement and Career Achievement Awards, while enjoying a three-course dinner. There is a cocktail hour prior to the event where our guests can mingle and network, plus an after-party to continue the festivities.
We anticipate having over 300 people attend, including agents, producers, and directors, to help us celebrate the awards.
The awards ceremony will also be live-streamed online.

SERIES SPONSOR
Join us for the 2025 year and you will be mentioned at the start of each episode. **Sponsorships are non exclusive, so other sponsors may be mentioned during the episode.
OFFLINE SERIES
The “Offline” events series provides an opportunity for editors to gather outside the editing suite for an outdoor recreational activity such as walking or kayaking. This initiative helps to support the physical and mental health of our members and community, which is of particular concern in post-production, where the work tends to be more solitary and sedentary than on sets. These events take place across the country periodically throughout the year.
CCE MENTORSHIP – Nationwide
The CCE’s Mentorship initiatives help emerging and mid-career Editors and Assistant Editors improve their creative, technical, and networking skills in order to reach the next level in their careers. Programming under the Mentorship umbrella includes virtual meetups in small-group learning sessions, one-on-one mentor/mentee speed-sessions, and networking. Mentees meet with mentors in the post-production industry in specialties such as live-action scripted, unscripted, animation editing, assistant editing, and post-producing.
This key program is central to achieving the CCE’s core values, and supports the mandate of broadening diversity in post-production by opening opportunities for advancement through an open and equitable process. This program has the potential to make a sizable impact on the success of our post production industry; by fostering the next generation of Canadian editors.
The CCE’s Mentorship initiatives are currently seeking both monetary and in-kind donations (e.g. software, local facilities). Please contact us for more information (adowler@cceditors.ca)
MASTER SERIES / BEHIND THE SCREEN – Online and In Person
Contribute to the CCE’s slate of Master Series and Behind The Screen events.
Taking place throughout the year, these series feature Canadian and international editors talking about their work and the art & science of editing. We aim to offer a combination of in-person and online events in 2025.
In the Master Series, we invite editors or panels of editors for an in-depth conversation on their work, the art and craft of editing, and their unique point of view on filmmaking and collaboration. These popular talks have been viewed by attendees in up to 13 countries at a time.
The Behind the Screen series gets under the hood of a specific project, looking at how editors craft their projects, and their chosen tools of the trade.
