The Canadian Cinema Editors mourn the loss of innocent civilians in Israel and Gaza and the current suffering of many people in this region. Our thoughts are with our members who have relatives or friends in the conflict area. We support those who advocate for a peaceful resolution.

CCE issues solidarity statement with the WGA and SAG-AFTRA

CCE issues solidarity statement with the WGA and SAG-AFTRA

The CCE would like to express their support of WGA and SAG-AFTRA as they strike in pursuit of fair contracts from the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.

Writers and performers deserve to share in the success of the work they do for major Hollywood studios and billion dollar streaming corporations. They should not fear that through AI, their work will be repurposed in the future without consent or proper compensation.

In line with our mission to represent and meet the needs of our post-production community, the CCE supports efforts of all film and television workers to lead successful careers through fair engagement. The entire business model has been changed by streaming, internet distribution, AI, and so must the compensation to those who are the core of our screen-based stories.

We stand in solidarity with WGA and SAG-AFTRA members.
